As it’s been a full month since my last unboxing post, this week I’ll be talking about another shipment of mine that arrived recently!
I’m sure that it’s no longer a surprise but yes, it’s another Althea box… Being such a beauty junkie, it’s very difficult for me to control myself when I see good deals on online makeup sites. So when a big sale / discount coupon came up on Althea.kr I just couldn’t pass it up, plus the fact that that I’m also a huge fan of Korean beauty products–whether it be skincare or makeup.
When my shipment came this time around, I was very surprised that the boxes weren’t encased in the usual hot pink plastic packet, but in a huge grey packet instead! This was the first time my officemates and I had seen an Althea shipment with a grey packet instead of the usual pink, or the standard LBC shipping packets…so we were all very intrigued!
Inside the packet were two boxes of varying sizes and themes! The first was Althea’s holiday box (small), which you’ve all seen from my previous unboxing posts (1 & 2) and the second, Althea’s standard pink box for shipments. On another note, together they formed Pantone’s Colors of the Year for 2016 (and my absolute favorite colors), Rose Quartz and Serenity!
Now, on to the actual contents of the box!
If you’re wondering why it’s so much, not everything in this shipment is mine! A portion of the Honey Snail creams belong to my mom, the same goes for the eye cream and eyeliner. The Honey Snail creams were actually on a special “timed”marked down at the time we bought them, but thanks to a previous promo code given by Althea the last time I ordered, I was able to get a pretty decent discount on everything else as well.
In the next couple of weeks I’ll be doing a more comprehensive review of the products in this box, but for now I’ll do a run down of what each product should ideally do for you!
First off, W-Lab‘s Sebum Out Finish Pact! Since I’ve hit the pan with my Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact, I decided that I was due to order a new one to replace the old one as soon as it runs out. However, since the Innisfree pact was out of stock during the time. That being said I decide to try out some of the other options, hoping that I could find a similarly performing product for a fraction of the price, and as a fall back in the times that my go-to product is out of stock. Ideally, like the Innisfree version, is designed to keep oil and grease away while keeping your makeup set (preventing caking). Honestly, I have high expectations for this product-hopefully it peforms just as amazingly as the Innisfree pact does!
Next in line is It’s Skin‘s Power 10 Formula: PO Effector. This essence is one of the 13 essences in It’s Skin’s Power 10 Formula line. Each of the essences is designed to target a specific skin trouble through highly concentrated formulations. The PO Effector is designed to cure enlarged pores and encourage smooth and even skin. I bought this because I desperately need it around my nose which is where I am the oiliest. There are certain pores in that area that have enlarged significantly and I’m hoping to correct that.
Next up is COC‘s Momo Waterproof Gel Eyeliner (Brown)! Although I’m more of a fan of felt tip and brush-type liquid eyeliners, my mom is a big fan of gel liners so we decided to try this eyeliner from COC. We got a brown shade this time around so we would be able to use it more on a daily basis and tone down our usage of black eyeliners. I’ve swatched this product on my hand and I will attest to the fact that it is in fact waterproof and resistant to transfer so far.
Fourth on the list of products I ordered is a highly praised and reviewed product among Koreans- COSRX‘s One Step Pimple Clear Pad. As the box notes, this product has won many awards and has been coined with names such as 대세템 (trendy item) and 인생템 (life item a.k.a. a necessity). I actually first heard about this product from my friend in Korea, Becca, and she highly recommended this product for controlling breakouts and acne-troubled skin. Soon I’ll be doing a separate (and special) review for this specific product, so stay tuned!
Both my concealers have been running low in these past couple of days, which is why I ordered this product from Missha! According to the product description, aside from offering full and complete coverage for redness and discolorations, this concealer is supposedly watery and non-creasing as well, which was the main reason I bought it. I absolutely hate when my concealer cakes in the middle of the day so I’m hoping that it lives up to my expectations.
The sixth product in this box is Elizavecca‘s Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream! The cream is designed to brighten, moisturize, and whiten areas of the skin, making it appear less tired and distressed. Although this is labelled as an eye cream, apparently you can use this cream in other trouble areas as well such as the neck, forehead, and around the lips where smile lines appear. Interestingly, as the name suggests, the cream contains flecks of gold, which has been a trend in Korean skincare lately-they’re starting to put gold flecks in most everything!
Last but not least, the product that we hoarded this time around-Nella Fantasia‘s Honey Snail Ultra Moisture Cream! Aside from the fact that it was on sale-you can almost never go wrong with snail creams. Snail creams like this one are meant to prevent dryness and keep the skin elastic, slowing down the aging process of your skin. My mom is a huge fan of snail creams and products, so we couldn’t pass up the chance to try this cream!
Out of all my Althea shipments so far, this is probably the largest haul so far, which is why I can’t do my reviews in the same post. I’m really excited and can’t wait to try all of these products out. Hopefully all these products live up to their expectations so stay tuned, as I’ll be doing the reviews for each of the products in this haul within the next couple of weeks!
